Pulmonary Hemorrhage

Defining the epidemiology, risk factors, outcomes, and evidence-based management of Pulmonary Hemorrhage in critically ill neonates, ultimately improving survival and neurodevelopmental outcomes for affected infants.

Aims

The Pulmonary Hemorrhage focus group will leverage the CHND and the collaborative expertise of CHNC clinician-researchers to:

  1. establish standardized definitions and data elements for PHEM.
  2. characterize the incidence, risk factors, and outcomes of PHEM in a large multi-center cohort.
  3. valuate variation in clinical management practices.
  4. develop evidence-based consensus recommendations and quality improvement initiatives to improve care.
  5. stimulate research on new strategies in management.
