Lymphatic Disorders

The Lymphatic Focus Group was created in 2026 to address the critical need for multi-center collaboration to better understand neonatal and infant lymphatic flow disorders, standardize care practices, and improve clinical outcomes.

Mission

Neonatal and infant lymphatic flow disorders are complex, often life-threatening conditions characterized by impaired lymphatic drainage and significant variability in presentation and outcomes. Our mission is to advance the understanding, diagnosis, and management of these disorders by addressing critical knowledge gaps, fostering collaborative research across institutions, and promoting standardized, evidence-based care to improve outcomes for this vulnerable patient population.

Goals/Aims

To leverage the multi-center network of the Children’s Hospitals Neonatal Consortium (CHNC) to (1) establish a comprehensive dataset to better define disease incidence, phenotypes, and clinical outcomes; (2) identify patterns in current management and associated outcomes across Level IV NICUs; and (3) develop and implement consensus care guidelines to reduce practice variability and evaluate the effectiveness of targeted therapies and medical management strategies.
