To improve outcomes of patients with intestinal failure by expanding existing knowledge and working to implement best practice management.

Introduction

The intestinal failure focus group includes neonatologists, neonatal-perinatal fellows, pediatric surgeons, gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, data coordinators, and nutritionists. Our ultimate goal is to improve the outcomes of infants diagnosed with intestinal failure.

Mission & Goals

We aim to improve intestinal failure outcomes through the following goals:  

  • Expanding the definition of neonatal intestinal failure through us of data.
  • Determine potential practice improvements to improve care of patients with intestinal failure.
  • Assess intestinal failure associated liver disease and its relation to patient outcomes and nutritional strategies.
  • Facilitate standardization of the CHND data capture related to nutritional and intestinal failure parameters.
