Extremely Preterm Infant

CHNC focus group dedicated to improving the care and outcomes of extremely preterm infants through national collaboration and project development.

Introduction

Developed in 2022, the Extremely Preterm Infant Focus Group’s mission is to combine expertise and experience from CHNC sites to generate and explore projects that are important, timely and topical for the care of the extremely preterm infant.  

Mission & Goals

Primary goals of this focus group include:

exploring current management strategies and inter-center variations in practice

examining the variability in outcomes

defining practices at top-performing centers

working towards building agreed-upon standardized guidelines and family education materials that can enhance the care of this high-risk patient population.  This group will collaborate with other pertinent CHNC focus groups allowing the opportunity to expand our scope.
